Memorial Day is May 30, 2011

Times & Locations: At participating CrossFit affiliates worldwide

What: The 5th annual Trevor Win'E Memorial Challenge is a CrossFit Team WOD designed to support our active duty military personnel who are currently deployed in the middle east. Each participating team donates one cooling vest (Mist-n-go) to deployed service person in Iraq or Afghanistan. Your team can donate your vest to any deployed service man or woman! Your affiliate can also sponsor a unit and we can take care of a group.

Last years Trevor Win'E (pronounced Win-Nay) CrossFit Challenge raised over $51,000 and the cause was able to donate 364 cooling vests to the folks who need them most. Join the cause and do it for the heroes!

Thier are three levels of the Trevor Challenge. The WODs are

ELITE TEAM: Teams of four work together to complete the following:

300 Pull ups

400 Push ups

500 Sit ups

600 Squats

WARRIOR TEAMS: Teams of 4,6, or 8 work together to complete

150 Pull ups

200 Push ups

250 Sit ups

300 Squats

GRUNTS: Teams of 4,6, or 8 work together to complete the following:

75 Pull ups

100 Push ups

125 Sit ups

150 Squats

Execution: This is a team effort so it is accumulative reps. Only two teams members can exercise at a time, and all reps must be completed before moving on to the next movement (i.e. finish all pull ups before moving on to the push ups). FORM COUNTS!! All counters must insure that repititions be performed perfectly.

The registration is $50 per team member. This includes T-shirts for the first 50 teams registered.

Announcing the first annual "Murph" Challenge!

Memorial Day 2011 at OCFA Headquarters we will be holding the Orange County Trevor WOD for cooling vests. In addition we will also be holding a "Murph" Challenge.

The workout "Murph" was written in memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.Michael Murphy was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor posthumously for his courageous actions on June 28, 2005

This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

The workout "Murph" is:

• 1 mile Run
• 100 Pull-ups
• 200 Push-ups
• 300 Squats
• 1 mile Run

For time.
Partition the pull-ups, push-ups, and squats as needed. Start and finish with a mile run. If you've got a twenty pound vest or body armor, wear it.

The registration for the "Murph" Challenge is $200 and EACH participant registration fee donates ONE COOLING VEST!
